Sex Therapy
My training as a sex therapist means that I have 160 hours in training to specialize in any and all topics relating to sex and sexuality. Here are a few common topics that I work with people around:
Repairing after infidelity and/or an affair
Providing sex education
Optimizing sexual experience with your partner
Different desires in a relationship
Exploring sexual interests and/or sexuality
Erectile dysfunction and erectile disappointment
Ejaculating early
Trouble reaching orgasm
Pain with sex
Sexless relationships
Improving communication around sex
Sex Therapy is a specialized form of therapy focused on sexual difficulties and increasing sexual well-being. There are often a few questions that people have about Sex Therapy, so here are a few of those answered:
What if I am embarrassed to talk about sex?
We will work together to create a safe, trusting space for you to open up at your own pace. I always remind clients they don’t have to answer any questions unless they are ready to.
Does sex therapy involve touch?
No—sex therapy is only talk therapy, meaning we will discuss topics relating to sex and sexuality.
What if I want to talk about more than just sex?
We can always discuss anything! We can also discuss intimacy issues, communication issues, improving general knowledge about sex, assessing your attitudes and beliefs, and/or improving body image.
What if my sexual issue is medical?
I provide collaborative care—meaning it is common for me to consult with doctors, pelvic floor therapists, gynecologists, urologists, and other providers to make sure you are receiving full, holistic care for any sexual concerns.
