COUPLES
Relationships are complicated—and we can often find ourselves having the same fight again and again with a partner. We can start to feel disconnected from our partner and over time, that starts to impact being able to turn towards our partner for connection, whether emotionally and/or sexually. Couples move through the lifespan together and can experience lots of different pain-points as life continues to transition, whether having a kid or aging parents or experiencing health issues. Couples often see me when they are feeling like they cannot manage their conflict together and are feeling disconnected. Here are a few topics that are common:
Feeling like it’s the same fight again and again
Recovering from an affair/infidelity
Conflict around roles in relationship
Fighting about chores
Difficulty discussing money
Different stressor points in the life stages: having a kid, aging parents, etc.
Feeling unappreciated, unseen, and/or misunderstood by your partner
Feeling like the spark in the relationship has gone
Not having sex or intimacy as much as you want
Feeling unable to talk about sex and intimacy
Feeling disconnected — emotionally and/or sexually
