COUPLES

Relationships are complicated—and we can often find ourselves having the same fight again and again with a partner. We can start to feel disconnected from our partner and over time, that starts to impact being able to turn towards our partner for connection, whether emotionally and/or sexually. Couples move through the lifespan together and can experience lots of different pain-points as life continues to transition, whether having a kid or aging parents or experiencing health issues. Couples often see me when they are feeling like they cannot manage their conflict together and are feeling disconnected. Here are a few topics that are common:

  • Feeling like it’s the same fight again and again

  • Recovering from an affair/infidelity

  • Conflict around roles in relationship

  • Fighting about chores

  • Difficulty discussing money

  • Different stressor points in the life stages: having a kid, aging parents, etc.

  • Feeling unappreciated, unseen, and/or misunderstood by your partner

  • Feeling like the spark in the relationship has gone

  • Not having sex or intimacy as much as you want

  • Feeling unable to talk about sex and intimacy

  • Feeling disconnected — emotionally and/or sexually
